Who Should Buy This
This cat litter is perfect for cat owners who want a clean and easy-to-use product. It is great for people with cats that have sensitive noses because it has no added scent. If you need a strong clumping litter that helps control odors, this is a good choice. The 18 lb bag is also good for homes with one or more cats, offering good value for the price.
However, if you have a cat that is allergic to clay or dust, you might want to avoid this litter. It is made from clay, which can create dust when used. Our Testing Experience
First Impressions
When I first opened the 18 lb bag of Dr. Elsey’s Ultra Unscented Clumping Clay Cat Litter, I immediately noticed the texture. The granules were just the right size—not too fine and not too coarse. It felt premium and sturdy in my hands, which gave me hope that it would clump well and control odors effectively. I was excited to see how my cats would react to it since they can be picky about their litter.
Daily Use
Over the next few days, I watched how the litter performed with my two cats. I was happy to see very little dust when they dug around, which was a relief because I tend to sneeze with dusty litters. Scooping was easy because the clumps formed quickly and stayed solid without breaking apart. This made cleaning the litter box less messy and faster. My cats seemed comfortable using it and didn’t avoid the box at all.
Key Features in Action
The premium texture and granule size really stood out during use. The hard clumping clay made sure moisture didn’t seep down to the bottom of the tray, keeping the litter box cleaner for longer. The almost dust-free formula was great for both my cats and me, especially since I have mild allergies. The clumps were firm and didn’t crumble, which made scooping simple and less wasteful.
Long-Term Performance
After using this litter for several weeks, I found that it continued to perform consistently well. The litter box stayed fresh without strong odors, and there was very little dust build-up around the area. The hard clumps made daily cleaning quick, and I didn’t have to change the entire litter as often as before. Overall, Dr. Elsey’s Ultra Unscented Clumping Clay Cat Litter proved to be reliable and convenient for my household.
