Our Testing Experience
First Impressions
When I first opened the box of Fresh Step Odor Shield Multi Cat Clumping Cat Litter, I noticed the fresh scent right away, thanks to the Febreze freshness. Setting up the litter box with this 14 lb. box was easy, and the litter felt soft but firm. Since I have two cats, I was curious to see how well it would handle multiple cats using the box. I poured the litter in and was ready to see how it worked over the next few days.
Daily Use
Each day, I checked the litter box to see how it held up. The clumps formed quickly and were easy to scoop out without breaking apart. I liked that the litter absorbed moisture fast, which kept the box feeling dry and clean. Even after both cats had used it, there was very little smell, which was a big relief. The ammonia block technology seemed to really help with controlling odors, making the room smell fresher.
Key Features in Action
The 15 days of odor control claim stood out to me because with two cats, smells can build up fast. The Fresh Step litter lived up to this promise during my testing. The clumping was strong, which made cleaning simple and less messy. Plus, the Febreze freshness added a nice touch, so the litter box didn’t smell like typical cat litter. The rapid liquid absorption kept the litter box dry, which I know my cats appreciated since they tend to avoid wet spots.
Long-Term Performance
After using Fresh Step Odor Shield for a couple of weeks, I found that it still controlled odors well and maintained its clumping power. Even with multiple cats, the box stayed fresh longer than other litters I’ve tried. I didn’t have to change the entire litter as often, which saved me time and effort. Overall, this litter worked great for my multi-cat household and made managing the litter box much easier.
